Goodbye, ‘Miss Ann’

imageAbout 30 boats turned out on the morning of September 14 for a bid send-off for a grand lady, “Miss Ann.”  The photo to the right was taken about 8:20 a.m. Sunday as the Miss Ann motored under the Robert O. Norris Jr. Bridge on her way to Colonial Beach and her new home on the Potomac River. The boat leading Miss Ann through the “gateway” is “Second Fling.” Aboard the lead boat are Ennolls A. Stephens Jr. and Robert Lee Stephens Sr., sons of visionary E.A. (Steve) Stephens Sr. who brought Miss Ann to the Northern Neck and Carter’s Creek in the early 1950s before the Robert O. Norris Bridge was erected.
