Historic Christ Church & Museum (HCC&M) in Weems invites the community to its 6th-annual Raise the Roof Craft Beer Fest on Saturday, July 13, from 1-6 p.m. Held on the grounds near the 1735 Christ Church, the popular event features live music, a dozen Virginia craft beers, wine, delicious barbecue (or vegetarian fare) with all the fixings, and homemade ice cream.

The renowned jazz-swing band “Good Shot Judy” and the nationally acclaimed blues band “Bobby ‘Blackhat’ Walters” will return to entertain the crowd and get everyone dancing, reported HCC&M director of programs and communications Robert Teagle.

Guests can enjoy a selection of 12 mouthwatering craft beers. From IPAs and porters to lighter summer ales and pilsners, Raise the Roof Craft Beer Fest features some of the finest craft beers from Virginia breweries. Teagle noted that guests who prefer wine will be able to use their drink tickets for wines from The Dog and Oyster Vineyard, the featured winery at this year’s event.

Tickets are $55 for adults, $20 for ages 20 and under, and free for age 5 and under. Tickets include five beer or wine tastings, one serving of Willaby’s barbecue or veggie fare with fixings, homemade ice cream from Short Lane in Gloucester, and a souvenir mug.
The annual event supports preservation and education programs at Christ Church, Lancaster County’s only National Historic Landmark. To purchase tickets visit christchurch1735.ticketleap.com.
