The Four Freshmen and Trudy Feigum of Hartfield

Trudy Feigum of Hartfield is among fans looking forward to the Rappahannock Concert Association’s 2018-19 series opener featuring the “Four Freshmen” on Saturday, October 13, at Northumberland High School Theater, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

Feigum is founding chair and chair of the board of the Four Freshmen Music Foundation (FFMF). The FFMF is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation operated by a fully volunteer board of directors from throughout the United States.

The foundation provides grants and scholarships for students and educators to learn, perform and help promote the unique harmonies of the Freshmen. Charts of the Four Freshmen have recently been arranged in the Freshmen style and are available for choirs, quartets and swing choirs.

The unique Freshmen harmonies have made the quartet, now in its 25th configuration and marking their 70th anniversary, one of the biggest acts in American music. Performing the Great American Songbook, they have released more than 50 albums. “Day By Day,” “Graduation Day,” “Route 66,” and “It’s a Blue World” are among time-honored hits.

Concert tickets are $25 each for adults with group rates available. Students will be admitted free. Online payment is offered at http://www.rappahannockconcerts.org or tickets can be reserved with the box office, 888-210-8006.

Additional information about FFMF grants and scholarships is available online, http://www.fourfreshmenmusicfoundation.org.
