Maritime museum elects 2014-15 board members

On Saturday, September 27, Groovin’ in the Park’s last concert of the year will feature the eclectic bluegrass sounds of “Recklessly Abandoned” (above). Gates open at 5 p.m. and the band takes the stage from 6-8 p.m. Bring picnics and lawn chairs. Tickets are $10.

At the annual Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park Members Meeting on September 13, the membership approved and elected the 2014-15 board of directors.

Continuing board members are Bob LeBoeuf, Chuck McGhinnis, Dick Urban, Doc Jones, Marvin Tiller, Ward Barnes, Duanne Hawkins, Evelyn Turner, Becky Ferrell, Eddie Harrow, Rob Brooks and Bill Cawthorn.

Newly-elected to the upcoming board are Marjorie Goettle, Jon Farinholt, Bill Powell, Raynell Smith, Gene Ruark and John England,

The 8th Annual Oyster Roast and Dance followed the meeting in the new pavilion with an attendance of 246.

At the regular board meeting on September 15, the following officers and executive directors were nominated and elected for 2014-15: President/Events Director Bill Powell, Vice President Rob Brooks, Secretary Marjorie Goettle, Treasurer/Museum Director Bob LeBoeuf, Boat Shop Director John England, Development Director Gene Ruark, and Building and Grounds Director Ward Barnes.
