The new addition is complete at the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department in Urbanna.
Donations helped pay for the three-bay structure used to house firefighting vehicles.
Individual “specific” donations paid for windows and doors to help fund the expansion.
However, there is a long way to go in paying for the building and keeping the fire department operating. Two of the bay doors are still available for sponsorship at $6,000 each, said fireman Keith Townsend.
A plaque denoting the donors will be placed on or near each door and window.
Individuals can still buy bricks for $25 each. A plaque will be made listing brick donors.
Recent donations include: brick by Doug and Charlotte Lloyd, brick by Larry and Carol Hardwicke, brick by Ray and Minnie Burch, 4 bricks by Richard and Deborah Haynes, brick by MVFD Woman’s Auxiliary, 8 bricks by Mary E. and Charles E. Camper; brick by Chuck and Bebe Coe, brick by William J. Seefeldt Jr., brick by Intel SAT Corporation, brick by Claire and Linda Hinckley, brick by Raymond A. and Maryilyn E. Simms, brick by Margaret Eubank Gerdts, 2 bricks by Susan F. Williams, 2 bricks by Jeff Robins, brick by anonymous, 2 bricks by Mildred Hiers Willis, 2 bricks by William Williams and 3 bricks by Tony and Lois Brooks.
