Farren Winter to sing at Donk’s

Donk’s Theater fans from far and near will enjoy a special treat on Saturday, May 25, as the youngest member of the Opry cast will be the featured performer for the evening.

Farren Winter, who resides in Gloucester County, first came to Donk’s as a hopeful in the talent searches and captured the hearts of all who heard her sing that night and since. Donk’s talent and production manager Linda Smith recognized her outstanding talent and she became a member of the Opry cast.

Farren is only 11 years old and attends Peasley Middle School, where she played Alice in their presentation of “Alice in Wonderland” in March of this year. Farren is a very talented young lady and has been nicknamed “Little Miss Dynamite” because of her presentation of the old Brenda Lee song “Dynamite,” which is a big hit with the Donk’s audiences.

In the oldies show, few will forget Farren’s impersonation of Tina Turner as she belted out “Proud Mary.” This Saturday will be Farren’s first time to be the featured act at Donk’s. The show also will feature the Donk’s regulars, Shades of Country and Uncle Jimmy.

Show time is 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children. For reservations and information call 725-7760 or visit the website at
