John Goodloe Evans, 54, son of Betty and the late Bob “McC” Evans of Urbanna, was one of three new judges in Riverside County, California, appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on July 21.
Each appointee replaces a retired judge.
“I could not possibly be happier than I am right now, said Riverside County Presiding Judge Richard T. Fields. “We got three truly outstanding people.”
Evans has a law office in Indio, Cal., and has worked as an associate or partner with several law firms since 1979. He received his law degree from Citrus Belt Law School, now called California southern Law School.
“As a civil lawyer, we are always bemoaning that so few of us are appointed to the bench, so I am happy to fill one of these spots, “ Evans said.
