Drop-In Family Art Day is Saturday at Arts on Main
On Saturday August 24, Gloucester Arts on Main will host another Drop-In Family Art Day from 1-4 p.m. and invites artists of all ages in the Middlesex, Gloucester and other Middle Peninsula communities to come and be part of this event.
It will be directed by educational coordinator Pam Doss and the theme of the workshop will be “Miniature Art.” Hopefully, the participants in this workshop will be inspired by the exhibit of miniature art that is on display in the gallery during August.
The artists in the Family Art Day workshop will work in three different areas of creative expression—painting, sculpture and drawing. “These workshops have been very successful in the past and we look forward to having artists of all ages showing their creativity,” said a workshop spokesperson.
The cost is $5 for non-members, and free for members. Parents have the option of leaving their children at the gallery to be part of the workshop or they can stay and be part of the artistic adventure.
Gloucester Arts on Main is dedicated to enriching the cultural and economic life of the community through the presentation of art, the performing arts and other events.
Gloucester Arts on Main at 6580-B Main Street in Gloucester invites the public to see the art on display in the gallery from noon-6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. All activities at Gloucester Arts on Main are partially supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
