The 4th Annual Arts in the Middle Fine Arts Festival went off in spite of threats of weather. Artists, patrons and volunteers all made this year’s event a success, said a festival spokesperson.

Saturday saw good weather and crowds while Sunday the weather finally had the final say. “We still had a hardy, loyal group of patrons come out and make the most of the shortened day,” said the spokesperson.

The show awards were presented at the artist reception Saturday night by show judge James Jones from the Charles H. Taylor Arts Center in Hampton.
