Daffodil Show is Saturday

The 59th Annual Daffodil Show sponsored by the Garden Club of Gloucester will be Saturday, March 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 29, from noon to 4 p.m. at Page Middle School at 5628 George Washington Memorial Highway in Gloucester.

The theme for 2009 Artistic Division is “Art in Bloom,” interpreting works of art through flower arranging.

The theme for the Junior Artistic Division is “Art in Bloom: Matisse and Picasso.”

The show will feature horticulture exhibits of many varieties, a dazzling display of over 1,000 blooms, artistic arrangements, horticultural and artistic junior divisions for children, educational horticulture, a display by Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, and a photography contest.

The show is open to all from novices and experts.

There is no fee to attend the show. Donations or “green offerings” will be accepted to help cover the costs of the show.

At 2:30 p.m. the The Maximum All-Star Xplosion Tiny Twinklers and Mini Sparklers will perform.
