Craft show begins Friday in Urbanna

Christmas Crafts on the Rivah will present its 6th annual Juried Craft Show this Friday and Saturday, November 16-17, at 230 Virginia Street (Delegate Hodges’ office) in Urbanna.  Friday hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.  Former shows have been held at the Middlesex County Public Library, Deltaville Branch.

The core of this crafting group have worked together for over 25 years and held huge shows each fall in York County.  This year’s show will benefit Middlesex Habitat for Humanity through a silent auction of a Chesapeake Bay Christmas Company collectable Santa and donations.  The Santa has a carpenter theme and will be a wonderful addition to one’s holiday decorations or will make a delightful gift.  There  also will be drawings for other items.  One does not have to be present to win.

This craft show will feature elegant angels, fragrant soaps, Colonial Williamsburg children’s wooden toys and games (at a fraction of Williamsburg prices), Amish needlework, Yoyo crafts, unique one-of-a-kind formal and casual jewelry, stained glass items, Ungate-Hayes pottery, notecards and prints from nature, wreaths, Chesapeake Bay Santas, nautical ornaments, college and professional team ornaments, infant and children’s clothing, broken glass art, Victorian fabric and ribbon ornaments, leather items, honey butters in seven flavors, pound cakes, quick breads, pies and cookies.  There also will be a selection of Madame Alexander dolls.

Participating crafters come from Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, Northern Virginia and the counties of Gloucester, York, Mathews and Middlesex.  There are also out-of-state crafters from Texas, Pennsylvania and New York
