Classic car show and more at museum festival

by Bill Powell
Events Director
Deltaville Maritime Museum

If you like fresh seafood, original art, classic cars, restored workboats, creek cruises, model trains, and live music, the 14th Holly Point Art & Seafood Festival from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, October 21, is an event you don’t want to miss. Held at the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park, this great little festival has something for all ages and every member of the family.

The classic cars and festival will start rollin’ at 10 a.m. in the park.

The festival will offer much more than classic cars. Enjoy its leisurely creek cruises with Cap’n Pete, art in all media, seafood, Rappahannock Railroaders’ model trains, classic boat tours, live music, and diesel engines.

Local favorite Ray Pittman brings his very large horn band and rhythm section, the “Revival,” live on the pavilion stage from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be a cash wine and beer bar in the south pavilion during the show.

Larry Chowning will be on the waterfront with his popular books on local history. Yes, he will have the updated edition of his Civil War history “Soldiers at the Doorstep.”
