Dale Jett, a member of the legendary Carter family, will perform with his band “Hello Stranger” on Friday, September 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Historic Christ Church & Museum in Weems. The grandson of A.P. and Sara Carter, Jett is a native of southwest Virginia. His band includes his wife Teresa on bass and good friend Oscar Harris on autoharp, guitar and mandolin.

Jett and Hello Stranger play traditional Appalachian Americana songs that provide the closest link to the music of the original Carter family. They have appeared on the Grand Ole Opry, Marty Stuart Show, Mountain Stage and other noted venues.

Hello Stranger is part of Historic Christ Church & Museum’s Bringing Music to Life Concert Series. The concert is supported by the Robert S. and Martha S. Scheu Fund of the River Counties Community Foundation, Virginia Commission for the Arts, and National Endowment for the Arts.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at christchurch1735.ticketleap.com or at the church at 420 Christ Church Road, Weems. The event includes an intermission with libations available for purchase. Weather permitting, the concert will be held outside. Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket. Coolers are welcome, but no pets please.
