Bluegrass Family Day and Fly-In set for June 13

The 6th Annual Bluegrass Family Day and Fly-In to benefit the American Cancer Society will be held at the Middle Peninsula Regional Airport in Mattaponi on Saturday, June 13, in memory of Mary Ann Clements and Shirley Norman.
There is no charge for admission but donations will be appreciated. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy a day of family fun.
Live bluegrass music will be provided between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. by The Virginia Travelers Bluegrass Band, Code Blue Bluegrass Band, Solid Rock Bluegrass Gospel Band, Mattaponi Grass, and Easy Street Bluegrass Band. They are donating their time and talent for this worthy cause.
Parking lot picking is allowed; bring instruments.
There will be activities for children of all ages throughout the day, including a moon walk, clowns, face painting, games, balloons, prizes, train rides and more.
The West Point Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad will provide food. A pancake breakfast will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Lunch items, funnel cakes and soft drinks also will be available.
Planes will start arriving at 8 a.m. and the expected departure will be around 6 p.m. There will be airplane rides for those that want to enjoy the adventure of flight and view the surrounding area. Many types of airplanes are expected.
The West Point Skydivers will be jumping during the day. A silent auction, 50/50 drawing and raffle prizes also will be featured.
