Bluegrass Family Day and Fly-in due June 24

The 12th annual Bluegrass Family Day and Fly-In will be held at the Middle Peninsula Regional Airport near West Point on Saturday, June 24, form 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Enjoy the sounds of five bluegrass bands from 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The music lineup includes John Grigsby and County Line, 10-10:45 a.m.; Solid Rock, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; Rappahannock Crossing, 12:30-1:1:15 p.m.; Heritage Bluegrass, 1:30-2:15 p.m.; Old Dog New Tricks, 2:30-3:15 p.m.; and Flatland Bluegrass, 3:30-4:15 p.m.

There will be fun activities for all ages, starting at 7:30 a.m. with a 5K run/walk on the runway.

Breakfast will be available from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and lunch starts at 11 a.m.

Besides food and refreshments, there will be a silent auction, airplane rides, vendors and crafts, children’s activities, a car and motorcycle show, a poker run, steam engine demonstration, fire and EMS displays, and sky diving.

The event is a fundraiser in memory of Mary Ann Clements and everyone who has faced cancer.
