Arts on Main dinner-theater ‘Rattlesnake’
|John Hardy performing in his play “Rattlesnake.”|
On Friday, August 8, Gloucester Arts on Main will present a special performing arts event—a one-man play written and acted by John Hardy and directed by Katy Brown.
Hardy first performed “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens at the gallery last year, and he said he is very excited about being able to come back and present a play of his own creation. The play deals with the journey of Sherman Trent in his quest for fatherhood, which takes him from Texas to Paris thanks to a special relationship he develops with a rattlesnake after being repeatedly rebuffed by the real world. During this journey, Hardy creates and interacts with the 16 characters he meets in his travels.
Gloucester Arts on Main will offer this event as a dinner theater presentation. Tickets for the dinner (by Shari) and the play are $30, and seating will begin at 5:30 p.m. There are only 30 seats available for the dinner-theater so reserve seats as soon as possible. The cost for those only interested in the play is $15, and seating will be at 6:30 p.m.
To reserve tickets or for more information, contact Gloucester Arts on Main, 6580-B Main Street, Gloucester, at 804-824-9464, http://www.gloucesterarts.org, or .
