Art gallery to feature ‘Living on the Water’
|Art by Mark Hierholtzer, such as the painting above, and other area artists will be on display throughout August at Gloucester Arts on Main.|
On Friday, August 1, starting at 6 p.m., Gloucester Arts on Main will celebrate its First Friday featuring the theme of “Living on the Water,” which is something very special for those who have had a chance to do so at some point in their lives. It has generated a whole body of art that celebrates the tides, boats of all types, weather, weather birds, fishermen, sailors—a list whose length is testimony to its force. Not to mention the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, the moon’s reflections, the magic of a moonlight sail where an invisible hand fills the sails and mysteriously moves the boat forward.
Among the artists who will be displaying their work are Renate Bumgarner, Dick Welton, Mark Hierholtzer and Jan Price.
As part of Friday’s event there will be a cash bar, Shari’s paninis and music by Ralph Motley and the “Last Minute Grass Band.”
