Art and photo copyright issues to be explained

Are you interested in the straight story about copyright issues? As an artist, can you paint from a magazine photo and still sell the work? How far and how long is the copyright active? As a photographer, can you expect revenue from artists copying your work?

When you post an image of your work on the internet, how do you protect it from copying and printing by others?

Gloucester Arts on Main attorney Ronnie Cohen will provide information to answer these questions at the next focus meeting on Friday, August 22, at 6:30 p.m. Light snacks and a cash bar will be provided.

Cohen is a professor of business law at Christopher Newport University and has ample experience on the subject of copyright laws.

Gloucester Arts on Main is at 6580B Main Street in Gloucester. Call 824-9464, visit http://www.gloucesterarts.org, or email for more information.
