Kekoka Music Festival to feature 8 bands

The weekend-long festival features local and national acoustic folk and rock-n-roll bands on the waterfront stage at Camp Kekoka in Kilmarnock. It is rapidly gaining a name in the summer music festival circuit as an event with major musical integrity.

RAL announces June events
The Rappahannock Art League (RAL) is sponsoring the following events during the month of June: May 28-June 30, new exhibit, “The 7th Annual Patron’s Gala Art Show,” June 7, 5-7 p.m., First Friday reception for the Patron’s Gala Art Show, June 24-28, “Mosaics, Mosaics, Mosaics.”

Mathews House Tour due June 8

The 2013 Mathews County House Tour will be Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., rain or shine. Pre-tour tickets may be purchased for $20 at either the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center, and Flowers From The Heart.

‘Garden as an Art Form’ class fetches large crowd

On May 3 Fredericksburg artist Ellen Worthy Stokes and homeowner/gardener David Henderson taught the elements of art as applied to the landscape to a near sell-out crowd. This class, sponsored by the Tappahannock Artists Guild (TAG), was held at historic Little Egypt in Tappahannock.
