‘We Got Talent’ variety show is Saturday
Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield will host “We Got Talent,” a talent variety show consisting of 14 acts competing for cash prizes this Saturday, October 5, from 7-9 p.m.
‘Main Street Blues & Brews’ to feature bands, microbrews
Historic Gloucester Village will be the site of “Main Street Blues & Brews,” which returns for its fourth year on Saturday, October 12, from 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. The popular blues and beer festival attracts over 1,000 blues fans from up and down the East Coast to its vibrant and charming downtown.
Art & Seafood Festival Oct. 11-12 at maritime park
Here comes October and with it the 10th Annual Holly Point Art & Seafood Festival (A&SF) on Friday, October 11, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, October 12, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The festival offers something of fun and interest for each and every member of the family.
Oyster Festival Queen contestant helps spread awareness of domestic violence
Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant Kausha Parrish, a Middlesex High School senior, worked closely with Laurel Shelter in Gloucester for her community service project. Laurel Shelter offers hope, love and support to those affected by domestic violence situations.
‘Bill Miles Band’ to perform Friday
September is Sweet Charity Month at Gloucester Arts on Main and the gallery is sponsoring two musical events to raise money for two local charities. The second of the two events will take place on Friday, September 27, from 6-9 p.m. and is to support our local charity, the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society.
