Gloucester Woman’s Club to celebrate its 100th
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Gloucester Woman’s Club, there will be a free, community-wide “open house” on Saturday, October 5, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., recalling not only the history of the Woman’s Club, but also of the Historic Edge Hill House building and its many owners.

Historic Gloucester Village will be the site of “Main Street Blues & Brews,” which returns for its fourth year on Saturday, October 12, from 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. The popular blues and beer festival attracts over 1,000 blues fans from up and down the East Coast to its vibrant and charming downtown.
Art & Seafood Festival Oct. 11-12 at maritime park
Here comes October and with it the 10th Annual Holly Point Art & Seafood Festival (A&SF) on Friday, October 11, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, October 12, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The festival offers something of fun and interest for each and every member of the family.
Oyster Festival Queen contestant helps spread awareness of domestic violence
Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant Kausha Parrish, a Middlesex High School senior, worked closely with Laurel Shelter in Gloucester for her community service project. Laurel Shelter offers hope, love and support to those affected by domestic violence situations.
