Areas of Middlesex get over 10 inches of rain
Torrential rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday flooded roads and left the ground still soggy this week. Farmer Chuck Hunt measured 11 inches of rain between Friday morning and Sunday evening at his home about a mile north of Saluda.

Over 40 vendors expected at Urbanna Farmers’ Market
The Urbanna Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. this Saturday, June 8, at Taber Park in Urbanna. Alexander Strugatsky and his Artisan Breads business will be one of this month’s featured vendors. Bay Aging will be another featured vendor.

The Cook Foundation will present the 7th annual “Symphony under the Stars” free family concert on Saturday, June 8, at 8 p.m. “on the lawn” of Main Street and Walter Reed Way.
