2015 Chili Cook-Off emphasized Dan Gill’s personality, influence
The second annual Chili Cook-Off at the Chili Plunge in Urbanna on Saturday held a special significance for those who worked with the late Dan Gill. Gill, who founded Something Different restaurant, was instrumental in setting up the town’s first Chili Cook-Off in 2014.
Violinist Ànnika Jenkins to perform with NNO
International-award-winning violinist Ànnika Brynn-Lascara Jenkins will return to perform with the Northern Neck Orchestra (NNO), conductor Guy Hayden announced recently.

The Robbin Thompson Band will present a concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
Art show features Rappahannock River
The Rappahannock River and its landscapes will be featured at the Tappahannock Art Gallery (TAG) during the next six weeks. Area artist Frank Rixey and photographer Bill Portlock will combine their work in a gallery show that opens with a reception for the public from 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 20.
