Grand marshal of Water View July 4th Parade
Lena Sickal will be honored as the grand marshal of the Upper Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department Annual Independence Day Celebration and Parade this Saturday, July 4. Mrs. Sickal was one of the original ladies auxiliary members when the fire department was formed. The ladies auxiliary along with the men in Water View, got together with Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department to form Water View Volunteer Fire Department in 1968.
Musical duo to perform July 8 at YMCA
On Wednesday, July 8, at 2 p.m., Kim and Jimbo Cary will entertain children at the Middlesex Family YMCA at Hartfield with their program “Rhythms Around the World.” This program is part of the “Be Creative @ Your Library” summer reading program sponsored by the Middlesex County Public Library. It is free and open to all children and their caregivers.
Change of venue for ‘Sweet Justice’ concert
The classic rock group "Sweet Justice" will perform Saturday, July 4, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Taber Park in Urbanna. Admission is free. Bring food and lawn chairs. The concert is sponsored by the Urbanna Business Association.
Youth boating safety class is Saturday in Deltaville
