Artist specializes in Native American subjects

Deadline for O-Fest poster contest is August 19
The Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation has announced a contest for the 52nd Urbanna Oyster Festival, November 6-7, which has long been an event of tradition. One of the many traditions is an annual poster or print. This year, the foundation will have a poster and would like to include everyone in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the project.

Kayak tour seeks participants
imageThe 11th Annual Kayak Tour, a part of The Southern Chesapeake Leukemia Cup Regatta Series, will be on Saturday, May 9, at 9:30 a.m. Bay Trails Outfitters will again lead an exciting paddle through the waters of Jackson Creek. Kayakers will depart from the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park.

Sisters honored for ‘Service Above Self’
imageSisters Ruby Lee Norris and Rachel Bridger were honored as the “Pride of Middlesex” by the Rotary Club of Middlesex County at its award banquet on Saturday at Christchurch School. It was the 10th annual recognition of those who epitomize the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.”
