Two Hartfield residents publish Civil War novel
imageThe novel traces two young Confederate soldiers from Virginia in their march from the Shenandoah Valley to the battle on Antietam Creek. The book focuses not so much on the event, but rather on the thoughts and feelings of two young boys cast in one of the world-changing events in American history.

Cryer Center grand opening set for Sunday
The recently-built Cryer Center on Route 33 near Locust Hill, which will be shared by Hands Across Middlesex, Habitat for Humanity and other nonprofit groups, will hold its grand opening this Sunday, January 24.

Brad Parks’ first book, “Faces of the Gone,” sold out at several national distributors — including — when it first hit shelves in December.
