Eight days to Oyster Festival

The 54th annual Urbanna Oyster Festival is set for Friday and Saturday, November 4-5, and once again good times and a variety of delicious food and lively music are planned for the tens of thousands of expected visitors. More than 100 vendors will be open for business when the festival begins on Friday at 10 a.m. On Saturday, the festival is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant helps RISP children

Felicia Marsh volunteered with the Rural Infant Services Program (RISP), which helps children from birth through age 3 who may have developmental delays. “It was a pleasure volunteering with the RISP program because I was able to work with the children one-on-one. I felt just like their best friend.”

Ghosts, goblins & ghouls gather at ‘Scary Halloween in the Park’

From the ghostly apparitions of the “Field of Screams” to the twisted, tortured, moan-filled pathways of the “Wailing Woods,” the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park will put on their best haunted house look for “Scary Halloween in the Park” from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 31, Halloween Day.
