The selection of the Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen is a long-standing tradition that dates back to 1960, the year before Urbanna Days became the Urbanna Oyster Festival. The tradition of crowning a Little Miss Spat along with the Queen began in 1966.
Wings & Wheels is Saturday
The Wings & Wheels car and aircraft show returns to Hummel Airfield in Topping this Saturday, September 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Featured this year are race cars and a plane that was used to train pilots in World War II.
Fisher earns title of Ms. Deltaville
Julia Child, aka Kaptain Krunch, demonstrated how to cut up a chicken at the Womanless Beauty Pageant last Saturday night at the DCA building in Deltaville. The poor lady accidentally cut off her thumb, but still had the presence of mind to remind everyone at the end of the performance “don’t forget the liver.”
