Tax volunteers to be in Deltaville twice in March
Tax-Aide volunteers will be at the Deltaville Library on Tuesdays, March 8 and March 29. The program is available to taxpayers with low and moderate income with special attention to ages 60 and older. It is a free, quality, volunteer-run assistance and preparation service that can transmit federal and state returns directly to the IRS.
No more raindrops with new YMCA roof
No more raindrops will be falling on the heads of the children and adults using the Middlesex Family YMCA’s Program Center in Hartfield because a new roof has been installed.
Remembering black history
In 1944, Morgan, a 27-year-old African-American, refused to give up her bus seat to a white couple and was arrested in Saluda. Her court case resulted in the U.S. Supreme Court overturning segregation on interstate public transportation in 1946.
