Vans needed for Christmas Friends gift delivery
Christmas Friends Inc. is up and running at full strength for its 25th year of helping the less fortunate of Middlesex County. An army of volunteers is shopping, wrapping gifts, and getting ready to deliver them on Saturday, December 18. A lot of gift boxes are still needed. Please bring them to the Sentinel in Urbanna. They can be left at the back door 24/7.
Middlesex author wins Nero Award
Parks, who also won the Shamus Award in October, became the first person to garner both honors for the same book in the combined 60-year history of the Nero and the Shamus. That work, Parks’ debut mystery, Faces of the Gone, features the exploits of investigative reporter Carter Ross.
YMCA ‘Winter Wonderland’ is Thursday
The Middlesex Family YMCA will host its annual Winter Wonderland on Thursday, December 9, from 5-8 p.m. This event is open to all in the community and will celebrate the joy of the Christmas season.
