Accolades given to ‘F.D. Crockett’ volunteers
imageA beautiful day greeted the 100 or so guests who attended the dedication and re-christening of the “F.D. Crockett” at Deltaville Boatyard on Saturday, May 7. A resplendent Crockett floated five feet from the podium while friends and family spoke passionately about her rebirth.

Urbanna Farmers’ Market is Saturday in Taber Park
The first Urbanna Farmers’ Market of the season will be held Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. during the Art on the Half Shell festival. The market will be in Taber Park on Rappahannock Avenue and will feature a variety of food, art and crafts. The public is invited to attend.

Local artist wins Award of Distinction
The Virginia Watercolor Society’s Award of Distinction was given to Middlesex County artist Jacquie Colligan Saturday night for her “Electric Sky.” The awards banquet was held at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club in Kilmarnock.

Kyle Petty Charity Ride proceeds into Middlesex
The 17th Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America will roll through the Middlesex area on the morning of Wednesday, May 11. The riders will spend Tuesday, May 10, at the Tides Inn in Irvington and are scheduled to leave at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
