Queen contestant raises funds to fight blood cancers

‘F.D. Crockett’ to flagship boat races
It is appropriate that F.D. Crockett returns to her “birthplace” each year. Her hull, built in 1924, is that of a “Poquoson log canoe,” and was combined with an internal combustion engine rather than the traditional sail so that she was “state-of-the-art” at the time.

Queen contestant raises funds for animal shelter
imageUrbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant Rachel Crews, a senior at Middlesex High School, raised money for the Middlesex County Animal Shelter for her community service project. Crews said she chose this project because “I have a huge compassion for animals and their welfare.”
