‘Oyster Tasting’ to benefit Jacob’s Ladder program
imageOn Sunday, September 30, Rappahannock River Oysters will host an “Oyster Tasting” to benefit Jacob’s Ladder from 3 to 5 p.m. at Locklies Marina in Topping. Guests will have the opportunity to taste Rappahannocks, Olde Salts, & Stingrays — 3 native oysters re-introduced into the Chesapeake Bay the owners of RRO.

Old schools to be demolished
imageThree buildings at the old Rappahannock Central Elementary School (above) at Cooks Corner and one at the YMCA (old Wilton Elementary School) in Hartfield will be demolished soon. The Board of Supervisors was told last week that WHW Inc. of Topping will begin demolition of the old schools starting September 24.
