Ghosts, goblins & ghouls gather at ‘Scary Halloween in the Park’
From the ghostly apparitions of the “Field of Screams” to the twisted, tortured, moan-filled pathways of the “Wailing Woods,” the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park will put on their best haunted house look for “Scary Halloween in the Park” from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 31, Halloween Day. Dress up the whole family! There’s room for everyone.
Tickets on sale for Historic Urbanna House Tour
Eight structures are on the Historic Urbanna Christmas House Tour set for Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The tour stops include Breezy Pointe, Rest and Be Thankful, Kinnaree, Hall Cottage, Old Fashioned Christmas-Middlesex Woman’s Club, Lansdowne, and the Old Tobacco Warehouse.
Delegates Morgan & Pollard to be honored for conservation efforts
The Virginia League of Conservation Voters (VALCV) will hold a reception to honor and thank Delegate Harvey Morgan and Delegate Albert Pollard for protecting Virginia’s environment during their years of service in the General Assembly. Neither delegate is running for re-election in November.
Queen contestant raises funds for Taber Park, oyster restoration
Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant Emily Moore, a senior at Christchurch School, held an “Around Town Scavenger Hunt” in Urbanna to raise money to beautify Taber Park and improve the town playground. Portions of the profits and all of the recycling products collected during her event went to benefit Cans for Oysters.
