Advance ticket deadline is Monday for oyster roast and dance at maritime park
imageTickets are now on sale for the 11th annual Oyster Roast and Dance on Saturday, September 9, from 5-9 p.m. in the Events Pavilion at Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park. Dinner and dance tickets are available at the museum office and Nauti Nell’s in Deltaville.

‘Josh Walker Quartet’ headlines Groovin’ concert
imageWell, if it’s Labor Day Weekend, it’s time for our lucky #7 bonus Groovin’ in the Park on the Waterfront Stage at the Deltaville Maritime Museum on Saturday, September 2. This is our annual visit from the Josh Walker Quartet and the sultry songstress Sharon Rae North bringing their smooth as silk renditions of our favorite old standards and popular jazz tunes.

Historical interpreter to perform for annual emancipation commemoration
imageThe public is invited to a historical program on Saturday, September 9, to commemorate Robert Carter III’s 1791 Deed of Emancipation and to honor the lives of the enslaved people he freed.

‘One Community Under God’ to feature several musical groups
The “One Community Under God” worship service will be held Sunday, September 17, on the grounds of historic Hewick Plantation near Urbanna. Six churches are involved in this year’s event—Antioch Baptist, Calvary Baptist, Immanuel Baptist, Mt. Zion Baptist, Urbanna Baptist, and Urbanna United Methodist. The theme is “We Are Family.”
