‘The Holmes Brothers’ concert set for Sept. 7
“The Holmes Brothers” will provide an evening of blues, gospel, soul, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll and country music on Wednesday, September 7, at St. Clare Walker Middle School on Route 33 at Locust Hill. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and admission is $10 at the door.
Anthony Wood performs at Donk’s Theater Saturday
Fans of Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry in Mathews are in for a special treat on Saturday, September 3, when Newport News/Denbigh native Anthony Lee Wood takes the stage in concert. Wood, who performed as one of the regulars at Donk’s Theater for several years, went on to be the featured entertainer at the Williamsburg Theater and has starred in several TV commercials.
