Tour ‘Iva W.’ Saturday at the Maritime Museum

Seventy-seven years of working boat history will be open to the public at the Deltaville Maritime Museum this Saturday, Nov. 29. The 60-foot “Iva W.” built in 1929 as a buyboat by John Wright for Captain Johnny Ward of Deltaville, and restored and converted in 1998 as a floating “Bed and Breakfast,” will be available for tours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

LMVFD Love Light Tree ceremony set for Sunday

The Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will host its annual Love Light Tree ceremony this Sunday, November 30, at 4 p.m. After lighting the tree, there will be music and refreshments inside the Deltaville firehouse. A visit from Santa is expected. The public is invited.

Christmas Friends Inc. has a lot of work to do
The fund-raising goal for Christmas Friends this year remains at $25,000. “We have set the goal to be the same as last year,” said Christmas Friends secretary and shopping director Bettie Lee Gaskins. “Even though contributions are down nationally for nearly all non-profit organizations, we have faith that the local residents will come through with donations for our own needy people in the area.”
