Feb. 15 concert to benefit Hands Across Middlesex

At 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, at Lower United Methodist Church on Route 33 in Hartfield, concert pianist Ellen Tenenbaum will perform a one-hour program of music by Chopin, Schubert, Mozart and Joplin.

‘Virginia Seafood Lover’ license plate unveiled

The Virginia Marine Products Board has announced the new Virginia Seafood Lover license plate. The new license plate is being introduced to support the marketing that is necessary to keep Virginia in the top three largest producers of marine products in the nation, and to help in promoting the aquaculture industry of clams, oysters, and fish.

Bay Aging plans more apartments
The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors approved a special exception permit on Jan. 20 to allow Bay Aging Apartments Middlesex Inc. to build a second phase of dwellings at Port Town Village on Old Virginia Street, just outside of Urbanna.
