Free July 4th concert to feature ‘Sweet Justice’
The classic rock group "Sweet Justice" will perform Saturday, July 4, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Urbanna Town Marina at Upton's Point on Urbanna Creek. Admission is free. Bring food and lawn chairs. The concert is sponsored by the Urbanna Business Association.
Local boatyard doing international work
“Ring Andersen” is one of the great wooden tall ships left in the Chesapeake Bay region. She was built in 1948 at Ring Andersen Boatyard in Denmark as a Baltic sailing trader. She was used from 1948 to 1962 to transport wheat, sugar, flour and fish. Today, she is an upscale yacht.
‘Reapers’ to bring sounds of 50s & 60s to Middlesex

The guest speaker at the June 9 Middlesex Lions Club meeting, Gordon Eliot White, gave a most informative history of Moore's Creek in Deltaville. Mr. White comes from an interesting and diverse background. He is originally from Glen Ridge, N.J., attended schools in New York, and holds degrees from Cornell University in history, and Columbia University in journalism.
