On Stage continues with VSO Jazz Ensemble

The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts On Stage 2012-13 season continues with a performance by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra (VSO) Jazz Ensemble on Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lancaster Middle School Theater.

Two artists featured at Gloucester gallery

In honor of Black History Month, Gloucester Arts on Main will present the work of artist Vernon L. Carter, who was born in 1927 and grew up in Northumberland County on the shores of Cockrell Creek. Adele Castillo is the second Artist of the Month at Gloucester Arts on Main.

Pavilion footings poured at Deltaville Maritime Museum

Workers from Peninsula Concrete and Steel of Gloucester dug and poured the footings for the event pavilions at the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park on January 23. Mid-20s weather did not deter work this past week as progress continues in getting the building ready for the park’s events season in April.

African American History Exhibit opens February 1

The February 2013 African American History Exhibit at the Gloucester Museum of History will feature the history of Woodville School, one of Gloucester’s first African American Schools. The display will be arranged by Dr. Wesley Wilson of Gloucester and will open February 1.
