Ray Pittman’s ‘Revival’ to play benefit at maritime park
imageRaised in Lancaster County, Ray Pittman and the Revival is a hip, vintage style rock band with a full helping of soul flavor from the Memphis Stax/Volt era and wonderful, fun, playlist of beach music. Reminiscent of “Tower of Power” or “Blood, Sweat and Tears,” the band was formed in 2009.

‘Blues & Brews’ set for Saturday in Gloucester
The Gloucester Main Street Association will host Gloucester’s third annual premier blues and craft beer festival, “Main Street Blues & Brews,” on Saturday, October 6, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 6596 Main Street, Gloucester. Visitors may enjoy over 30 different microbrews including St. George, Allagash Brewery, Williamsburg Alewerks and many more.

‘Wings, Wheels & Keels’ set for Saturday
Since 1996, tens of thousands of people have come to Topping in September for the “Wings & Wheels” festival to reflect on those classic vehicles of their youth and remember how those cars made them feel; while at the same time getting up-close looks at some unusual and classic aircraft.

Veteran railway operator is Oyster Festival Captain
imageThe Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation has named Deltaville native Ed Deagle the Captain of the 55th annual Urbanna Oyster Festival set for November 2-3. Deagle grew up in a maritime family. His father, Lee Deagle, operated a small railway on Jackson Creek until 1935 when he purchased Linwood Price’s large railway on Fishing Bay.
