Eight ladies to debut at 116th Holly Ball

Lancaster dog to compete for national championship
imageOn December 17-18, the best in the sport of purebred dogs will flock to Orlando, Florida, to strut their stuff at the prestigious AKC/Eukanuba National Championship. Lancaster County resident Jane Bishop and American and Canadian Grand Champion Korsakov’s Quantum Leap “Annie” will be among the contenders.

Bradner art on display
The Bay School Community Arts Center will exhibit extended works from a local watercolor artist Wilma T. Bradner through December 21. Bradner works primarily in watercolor, which is often compared to stained glass. She includes glazes in her work rather than mixing the colors on the palette in order to let the beauty of the colors shine through.

Party in Party’ cancelled, auction moves to Facebook
The "Party in a Party" event, anticipated as a way for small office staffs to have a big Christmas party, has been cancelled due to modest participation. The auction will go on electronically. All the items that were donated to raise money for Christmas Friends Inc. will still be auctioned Saturday, December 10, on the Bethpage Camp-Resort Facebook page.

Busy weekend for Christmas events
On Friday, December 2, the annual Urbanna Hometown Christmas Parade will be at 7 p.m. The concession stand at the Urbanna Firehouse opens at 4:30 p.m. and Nate Sparks will perform from 6 to 7 p.m. Christmas carols will be sung on the steps of R.S. Bristow Store from 6:15 to 7 p.m. After the 7 p.m. parade, Santa will visit with children in the firehouse.
