Amish to build carriage house
The Amish will be at the King and Queen Tavern Museum Thursday, April 16, beginning about 6 a.m. to construct a carriage house adjacent to the log schoolhouse and the Tavern Museum for the King and Queen Historical Society.

Preakness Party is now accepting reservations
On Saturday, May 16, from 3 to 7 p.m., the 5th Annual Preakness Party and Auction to benefit the Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation (RCC/EFI) will move back to the Northern Neck to the Wirtland estate, the home of Fletch Flemer on the grounds of Ingleside Vineyards near Oak Grove.

One-day shooting camp set for April 18 in Hartfield

The event is targeted to expose young shooters and their families to the fun of participating in the various shooting sports, while teaching about the safe handling of firearms on the range, in the home, and while hunting.

Rivers District Scout-O-Rama, May 1-3 in Warsaw

The Rivers District is comprised of Essex, King and Queen, King William, Lancaster, Middlesex, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland counties. This year a group of Scouts have planned the event and are looking forward to showing the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula “what Scouts do” in a Scout show.

Daffodil show blooms in White Stone

The energy accelerated in the final hour before judging at the 75th Annual Daffodil Show, hosted by the Garden Club of the Northern Neck in White Stone last week. Daffodil growers carrying chattering trays of bulb vases carefully weaved their way through the thickening crowd.
