Visually impaired student from Saluda going to Peru
Come out and support Joshua Helmich. He is fundraising for his trip to Peru. Josh will be traveling with 10 other students. The team is composed of 5 sighted students and 5 vision impaired students who will be hiking up Macchu Picu mountain, doing a community service project, learning to overcome obstacles, and so much more.
Auditions set for ‘Treasure Island”
Gloucester High School and The Court House Players will hold open auditions for a community theater production of Ken Ludwig¹s stage adaptation of Robert Lewis Stevenson¹s "Treasure Island." Both audition dates are open to the public. Teens and adults, male and female, are needed.
Northern Neck Chantey Singers to perform at St. Clare Walker
The Northern Neck Chantey Singers will perform on Sunday, February 26, at 3 p.m. at St. Clare Walker Middle School, 6814 General Puller Highway, Locust Hill. The group sings the work songs of the menhaden fishing industry of the Northern Neck.
Bathrooms completed at Deltaville maritime park
The two new handicapped-access bathrooms have been completed at the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park. The bathroom project, begun in early 2011 and delayed due to budgetary concerns, was completed this past Friday. These bathrooms will be available for the park area when the museum is closed.
