Rappahannock Art League tours Richmond exhibits
Not knowing quite what to expect at the University of Richmond (UR), 36 art-lovers boarded a Rappahannock Art League (RAL) charter bus on March 7 for a day of discovery, reported Agnes Carter who, along with Susan Judd, organized the event.
Waterfowl Show to feature new Noffsinger art
The 33rd annual Rappahannock River Waterfowl Show will be held Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18, at the White Stone Firehouse. Eighty-eight artists and carvers from 11 states will travel to White Stone to exhibit their paintings, bird carvings, bronze sculptures, and photography.
‘F.D. Crockett’ receives major paint donation
Deltaville Maritime Museum’s restoration project, the log-hulled buyboat “F.D. Crockett,” has received a major donation toward her annual maintenance from Deltaville Boat Yard (DBY). Keith Ruse and Matt Holloway of DBY announced they are donating all of the bottom paint necessary to protect Crockett’s log hull from damaging marine flora and fauna.
Works of two artists on display at Bay School
Now displayed at the Bay School in Mathews are the works of Amy Hayes Castleberry, who works in acrylic on canvas. She also does architectural renderings in pen-and-ink. Her style is somewhat impressionistic and she favors bright colors and slice-of-life subjects.
