MCVRS Capt. LaVerne named ‘Hometown Hero

Bay Aging moving forward with ‘neighbors helping neighbors’
“If it wasn’t for the Tartan I’d have to go on food stamps,” she said. In the months she has lived there, Furey has become an activist for many Bay Aging programs and earned a reputation as a “spark plug” for helping her neighbors. But she is quick to explain, “Everyone here looks out for everyone else.” It is a community spirit that may be key to the future of Bay Aging as well.
