Wicomico Parish Church Market Day due October 13
Volunteers at Wicomico Parish Church (Episcopal) are preparing for their annual Market Day, to be held on Saturday, October 13, from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. As always, specialty foods, local vendors and yard sale items will be featured.
This year’s silent auction will be larger than ever and includes a new gas stove and gently-used items such as watercraft, a large commercial grade mulcher, porch furniture and a vertical saw.
Among the more unusual auction items are six unique children’s chairs, colorfully hand-painted by well-known local artist Betty Johannesson.
Golfing fans will have the opportunity to bid on two all-day passes for the Par 3 tournament to be held April 10, 2013 at the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Ga.
Market Day is a major fundraiser for the parish and 100% of the church’s proceeds are returned to the community to support worthy local causes. Community members interested in donating larger items for the silent auction may call Dick Doyle at 453-3084.
