UUMC collecting auction items

On Saturday, August 12, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. friends of Urbanna United Methodist Church (UUMC) will hold a silent auction from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

“Excitement is building as folks are gathering old and new treasures,” said an event spokesperson.

Included are old quilts, several jewelry pieces, beautiful dishes, a Wedgewood blue and white Jasperware teapot and creamer, an Andrea by Sadek porcelain cake plate and server, a set (13 volume) of Mark Twain books, a pink depression glass bowl and matching candleholders, a two-way marine radio and charger, a colorful framed needlepoint picture of a pheasant family, suitable for framing cards of historic buildings in Middlesex County done in the 1970s by different artists, a ring with a semi-precious agate stone, and more.

Watch for more items that will be listed in future news articles.

The auction will be the same day as the Urbanna Farmers Market in Taber Park, which is just a few blocks from the church. UUMC is on Marston Avenue between Rappahannock Avenue and Cross Street. Enter from the main parking lot through the covered doorway. The church is air-conditioned.
Spacious off-street parking will be available.
