Urbanna Methodist to offer contemporary service

Urbanna United Methodist Church will offer a contemporary worship service on Wednesday, July 29, at 7 p.m.

This is the second of a summer series with the hope of the service becoming permanent. The church did a Lenten study titled “Five Practices of a Fruitful Congregation,” one being “Passionate Worship.” The congregation felt there was a need in the community to serve those who are looking for something a little different than a traditional Sunday morning service. The idea was embraced and the first service was held on June 24 with a very large attendance. The band “Reverent Youth” performed and the congregation enjoyed this casual, interactive time of Christian fellowship.

At the upcoming service on July 29, all children attending the recent Vacation Bible School held at Urbanna Baptist Church are invited to participate. They will share song selections from their music time that week.

All are invited to attend the service at the church at 221 Marston Avenue in Urbanna.  Please call the church office at 758-5308 with any questions.
