Unitarians to discuss ‘children’
On Sunday, May 18, Caroline Shifflett and Kristi VanAudenhove will speak at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR). The title of their talk will be “Embracing the Spirit of the Child in Our Midst.”
“Join us as we raise an important question: Do we have a culture and atmosphere which is multigenerational in nature and family-friendly in order to meet the complex needs of today’s families with children and youth? With so many stresses and competing events drawing families in different directions, we need to consider just what our fellowship offers to support and enrich the spirits of the children within us and the children around us,” said Shifflett.
Shifflett has been an active member of the UUFR since 2003, is a former president, and has served in many leadership roles. VanAudenhove has been involved in religious education for kids at Williamsburg UU.
The UUFR meets every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 366 James Wharf Road in White Stone.
Coffee and refreshments will follow the service.
