SRBA Board meets Saturday
The first meeting of the new year for the Southside Rappahannock Baptist Association (SRBA) Board will be on Saturday, September 8, at 10 a.m. at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Walkerton where Rev. Robert D. Brown is pastor.
The SRBA Board consists of all officers of SRBA and its Allied Bodies who were installed at the Annual Session in July 2012.
Moderator, Deacon Percy Pollard said: “SRBA consists of 35 churches in the counties of Essex, King and Queen and Middlesex and our continuing legacy is the help make a difference through the initiatives we take, and the missions we support. We are calling for ministers, deacons, deaconesses, trustees, ushers, choir members, seniors, youth, men, and women to join hands in this process for change.
“Next year, SRBA will move into its 136th year and we need to find creative ways to support our churches, support our youth, support our communities, support our seniors, and prepare for voter education and participation,” continued Pollard. “This is not a time, historically, to sign-off, but it’s a time to step-up, sign-up and be among the counted. So, even if you are not an official board member, but serve in one of the member churches, join us.”
The Women’s Ministry will start its meeting at 8:30 a.m. before the parent body starting promptly at 10 a.m.
Pastors and ministers of the Southside Ministerial Alliance will meet immediately after the regular meeting during the lunch period provided by New Mount Zion.
