At this week’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Middlesex there was plenty to smile about. Rotary president Joe Brinkley and Habitat for Humanity Middlesex board member Lyle Predmore shared more things to smile about as Joe presented Lyle a check for $1,000 for Habitat to use in our county.
Habitat is just one of the community organizations that the local Rotary Club supports year after year.
Predmore reported to Rotary members that details on a building site for the next Habitat house is still a work in progress. However, the necessary behind-the-scenes work continues so Habitat volunteers can eventually bring hammers, nails and boards together for another home for a family that would not know home ownership without all of these combined efforts.
As Predmore reflected on Rotary’s generous gift, he made the observation that Habitat’s financial statement had just received a 10% transfusion.
Serious fundraising is also taking place by Habitat Middlesex.
Anyone who would like to add to Joe and Lyle’s smiles may send tax-exempt donations to HFH, P.O. Box 492, Hartfield, VA 23071.
